Becareful what you say Daphne...

CHECK OUT WHAT CAME OUT IN THE MALAY MAIL YESTERDAY

Daphne denies she’s pregnant

by SHUHAIDAH SAHARANI

“PREGNANT? Who, me?” TV personality Daphne Iking has denied rumours that the pitter-patter of little feet are on their way, barely two months after she got married.

Rumours have been making their rounds that Daphne, the sexy and sultry host of ntv7’s The Breakfast Show, is expecting a baby.

The 28-year-old, however, is bemused.

“No, I’m not pregnant,” she said with a laugh, when contacted by The Malay Mail recently.

She admitted that her phone had been ringing with everyone asking whether it was true.

“I’m getting a lot of calls asking me whether I’m pregnant or not.

I wonder how this rumour started.

“I’m not planning to have a baby so soon, but if I am pregnant, I would be happy.

Unfortunately, I am not,” said the Kadazan beauty.

Daphne believes that the rumours could have started from something she said on her show recently which could have been taken out of context.

On the March 16 edition of The Breakfast Show, Daphne interviewed the cast and crew of the latest Malay horror fl ick, Jangan Pandang Belakang.

In the interview, it was mentioned that the fi lm was the only Malay movie that came with a warning.

Pregnant women and those who suffer from heart problems were advised against watching the movie while children under 13 required adult supervision.

Daphne then remarked that she should not watch the movie, blissfully unaware that someone might take it out of context.

“I didn’t mean it to sound that way.

I’m sorry I made you guys worry,” she said.

“What I meant was that I am very lemah semangat (easily rattled).

I am scared of horror movies and I should not watch the fi lm.”

Daphne’s wedding was the stuff of fairytales — she and husband Ryan Chong exchanged vows under palm fronds and the ocean breeze at the Jimbaran Bay beach, Bali, on Jan 27.

Daphne said if and when it happens, just like her wedding, she would not hide her pregnancy.

“I promise — when I am pregnant, I’ll defi nitely share the news with the Press,” she said.

SO, BECAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY. I NEVER LEARN MY LESSON DO I? FIRST WITH THE MOTOROLA INCIDENT AND NOW THIS. REALLY.
