#MYButterflyEffect Campaign

Congratulations @mestecc on the launch of your #mybutterflyeffect Brand Campaign.

This campaign premises on how a small action in one location can cause large effects in other places. It was initially unveiled for Expo 2017 Astana, but today’s launch marks the onward journey of the butterfly traversing the terrain to replicate the success in Astana at the Malaysian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

I am glad the new government decided to proceed with the same campaign.

This year’s theme is “Energising Sustainability”, reflecting the national agenda to achieve a sustainable future where our socia-economic progress is balanced by environmental responsibility. They couldn’t have found a better ambassador for this campaign — YAM Tunku Zain is the perfect choice. I’ve always admired his wit and love reading his articles. His speeches are always so fun to listen to, brilliantly delivered and always with some historic trivia peppered with jokes and attempts to berpantun which is so cute.

Most GOHs would be the first to leave, but he stayed on till the extreme end; taking pictures with his fans, talking, mingling and even tried a hand with Lewis Pragasam’s drums (made from recycled materials ‘cept for the drum skin) performing a short demo for us, much to our delight! Why am I emphasising so much on him? Well, simply because when you find someone as cool as him, (and I’m a sucker for British wit) PLUS his birthday falls on the same day as you, you want to pay a tribute as handsomely and as genuine, as the man himself. So happy birthday @tz.n9. I’ve always felt you could lead our nation to greater heights. I really do.

YB Puan @yeobeeyin is someone else I’ve always admired. I interviewed her when she was still with the opposition. She’s a fighter this one. Not one to beat around the bush and someone who truly wants change for the better. She has a lot of rubbish and wastage in her plate, figuratively and literally speaking, and I commend her dedication in ensuring matters are cleared up fast. Thank you for pushing the point that we can do it collectively together. Each small contribution will bring forth change.

Let’s do this!
