I LOVE eating and I hate seeing good food go to waste - so when folks tell me that my eldest child Isobel is "so like me" -- I have to disagree. If there is one thing that differenciates us, it is her fussiness when it comes to eating.
My sister Michelle-Ann bought her a gorgeous customized cutlery and plate set for Christmas, which seemed to help Bel (and us) during mealtimes. Unfortunately, it broke. I was so cross with her for being so careless, but then again she IS just 4 years old and it was made of China. Nonetheless, I was against getting her a new set and she had to make do with the "adult plates". But when mealtimes were becoming very frustrating for all (she'd spend an hour or so each time, sometimes even pretending to sleep to escape dinnertime!) and she was losing weight (even when we made her favourite (limited) dishes) -- I was getting worried.
A friend recommended the Trebimbi Collection Cutlery Set from Risio. Each piece of cutlery has been specially designed to make it easy for little ones to learn how to feed themselves. I needed a fast and fun way of getting Bel to eat her meals by herself, without bibik assisting or me nagging at her.
