The only one oblivious to the ups and downs of the whole race was Isobel. For better or for worst, she remains generous in her smile, warmth and laughter.

The innocence of a child.

But as adults, we feel more. It is how we handle the situation that makes or breaks the team.

We may have lost the race, but that does not mean we stopped supporting those who were still at the track. That is what good sportsmanship is all about.

When we fight, we fight fairly.

No sabotaging. No bickering. Ever helpful.

And if things don't go our way, we exit graciously.

Not by being bitter or angry or sore.

That's not our style.

That's not MY style.

I hope Bel learn these values.
