Congrats on your newborn Isobel - she's gorgeous! Same here woman..tell me about it. I am hibernating at home just like you too..sigh, welcome to the world of motherhood!
Apart from being a hermit for a while, the confinement food is not that yummy at all..so many food we cant eat! And the tummy...I got CSection too (13th this month) and their not very nice (pain + saggy skin)...sigh.
Nevertheless, the birth of our little one makes us forget all the unpleasant things for a while hehehe...
Ive been an avid follower of your blog since my younger sis had it tagged on her own blogsite. Reading about your honest-to-god descriptions and revelations of your transition from a career woman to a glowing bride and later to a pregnant wife and now, a (very proud but still cynical) mommy is a tad scary, if not relieving - not in a bad way, of course - but in a Finally-someone-'s-brave-enough-to-tell-other-soon-to-be-moms-the-truth!
I just finished reading this book, and I think it'll humour you as well, as the protagonist is very much like you - and she's as graphic as hell when it comes to pregnancy and babies! It's Carmen Reid's debut novel. Funny thing is, I got it at a price of NZD0.50 at a 2nd hand book sale...but the entertainment value is so much more.
Here's the link of it on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Bed-Carmen-Reid/dp/0552149470
Reckoned that you could read it while scratching ur itchy scalp, moaning at your bloated feet and swearing at the fact that u cant have any choccies during ur confinement period.
