The Borneo Rhino Sanctuary (BRS) programme based at Tabin Wildlife Reserve needs extra help from a Malaysian (hopefully Sabahan) who could act as a general assistant to the current Borneo Rhino Alliance (BORA) field manager and veterinarian (Dr Zainal Zahari Zainuddin) and to be a laboratory assistant, as we envisage that more active work on rhino reproductive biology at Tabin will become necessary in the coming months and years.
The ideal candidate is likely to have a science STPM or diploma level in some sort of science subject. A major additional criterion would be willingness to be based in Tabin Wildlife Reserve, in fairly basic conditions and 1 hour plus drive from Lahad Datu town. Alternatively, an option might be someone who lives in Lahad Datu and who spends Monday to Friday at Tabin.
Please pass this on to any young people who you know who may be potential candidates. We will be advertising in Sabah newspapers in the next 2 or 3 months with a view to a start around August-September 2012.
